Adventurers, spontaneous and on the go

The Wildcard

WASV

Joins whoever's going, wherever, for as little as possible.

How you travel

“Who’s in?” is your favourite question, and your answer is nearly always yes. You’ll join a trek with people you met yesterday, change cities because the hostel crowd is heading there, and find the cheapest way to make it all happen.

Your trips are active, social and unplanned. The plan is whatever the group decides tonight, and some of your closest friendships started in a hostel common room.

Strengths

You make friends anywhere. A dorm room or bus ride is all you need.
You say yes. Openness takes you to places careful planners miss.
You’re a budget genius. You know every cheap way to do the fun thing.

Watch-outs

Following the group can mean missing your thing. Know what you came for.
The cheapest option isn’t always safe. Check transport and tour operators before you jump in.

Your ideal trip

A backpacker route with lively hostels, group tours and active days: treks, island hops, surf lessons and plenty of new people.

Travel companions

Easiest: The Trailblazer (WAIV). Same spontaneous, active, budget style; they just like solo stretches. Tip: give them space and they’ll find you again.

Trickiest: The Connoisseur (MLIT). Planned, slow, solo and quality-first. Tip: meet for one great lunch, their pick, your company.

Your travel tip

Before each stop, name one thing you’ll do even if the group goes elsewhere.
